Graphics cards, processors, and RAM all play essential roles in the performance and speed of a computer's processing. You can't win without suitable equipment. But what about a gaming monitor? Is it worth investing so much money just for gaming?
More and more games are being developed that offer different modes of play. In some instances, these modes can be challenging to play at first, but once you've mastered them and are ready to take on the world? Well, that's when you're going to need a good monitor.

Gaming on a big-screen television is more immersive than playing on a PC monitor. Whenever I'm playing a new game for the first time, I like to load it up and sit there for about fifteen minutes in awe of the visuals. To become immersed in the virtual world of my video game? For those that are into 3D gaming, you'll need a monitor that offers full 1080p resolution and HDMI 1.4 capability with support for 120Hz refresh rates and 3D content playback.
2. Features:
RAID and 3D support are a plus in my book. But any gaming monitor will need to have multiple inputs, fast refresh rates, and of course, HDMI 1.4 compatibility. Any gamer who doesn't own the latest technology for connecting to the internet? He's no gamer at all!
Adjustable picture modes such as 5-way plus brightness control are something I always look for in a gaming monitor. Not only will I want to be able to reduce bright lights so I can see clearly, but I also want to mute the screen when playing games like Half-Life 3 and other intense shoot-em-ups.
3. Connectivity:
Gaming monitors should have at least one USB port for connecting accessories. You'll also want to select a monitor that features a VGA port, DVI port, HDMI ports, and an audio input/output. You don't want to be using a bunch of adapters and extension cords when playing your games.

The most expensive gaming monitors are over USD 1000! What's the point of going overboard with your equipment? Unless you're getting more than what you've paid for?
